Sorare Takes on NBA Top Shot With Ethereum NFT-Based Fantasy NBA Game
The fans will love it. Sorareās Ethereum-based fantasy soccer platform helped spearhead the rise of both NFT gaming and digital sports collectibles, and the firm recently expanded into baseball š with an official MLB game. Now, Sorare plans to enter NBA Top Shotās turf with the upcoming launch of an official NBA fantasy basketball game.
Created in partnership with the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), the platform will let users collect and utilize Ethereum NFT cards š based on pro players from the league. Like Sorareās soccer and baseball games, users can create a lineup from their owned NFT players and enter leagues that provide ETH and NFT card rewards to top performers.
Crypto Miner Bitdeer Delays $4B SPAC Deal Again
Will it help them? The SPAC taking crypto miner Bitdeer public at a $4 billion valuation has filed another extension, delaying the merger until December. The Blue Safari Group was supposed to merge with BitDeer by June 14 but filed an extension to push the deadline š§ back to September 14. According to the terms, this second extension is the last that can be covered by the loan. It bears no interest and doesn't need to be repaid until the companies have completed their merger.
David Bowie Ethereum NFTs Trigger Twitter Backlash
The David Bowie estate is launching NFTs with OpenSea next week, but many Bowie fans aren't impressed. Nine different visual artists šØ have created Bowie-inspired NFTs as a part of the āBowie on the Blockchainā NFT launch, with 100% of the proceeds to be donated to CARE, a nonprofit organization focused on fighting world hunger and global poverty.
In the case of the Bowie NFTs, many users on social media arenāt happy to see the legendary starās likeness associated with the blockchain tokens. While a few expressed support for NFT technology, others told the Bowie estate, āDonāt ā do this.ā It's unlikely to make an impact, but still.

Vermont's financial regulator alleges Celsius and its CEO made 'false and misleading claims'
Are they in trouble again? The Vermont Department of Financial Regulation, or DFR, alleged crypto lending platform Celsius Network and CEO Alex Mashinsky misled š¤ state regulators about the firmās financial health and its compliance with securities laws.
Vermontās financial regulator said Celsius and Mashinsky āmade false and misleading claims to investorsā which allegedly downplayed concerns about volatility in the crypto market, encouraging retail investors to leave their funds on the platform or make new investments. According to the state regulator, Celsius and its CEO š¬ ālacked sufficient assets to repay its obligationsā despite claiming the firm had enough funds in its reserves to mitigate the risk of insolvency.
FBI seeks Bitcoin wallet information of ransomware attackers
Three federal agencies in the United States ā the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center ā jointly issued an advisory seeking š information to curb ransomware attacks. While proactive measures remain vital to counter ransomware, the FBI asked US citizens to report information that helps track the whereabouts of the hackers. Not a bad idea.
Thai SEC files police report on Zipmex, alleging āincompleteā info for compliance procedures
Oops, a nasty twist. Thailandās Securities and Exchange Commission, or SEC, has accused crypto exchange š± Zipmex and its co-founder Akalarp Yimwilai of non-compliance with local laws and referred the matter to the police.
In an announcement, the Thai SEC alleged Zipmex had not provided information on digital wallets and crypto transactions in compliance with the countryās Digital Assets Act. The regulator claimed that both Akalarp and the exchange forwarded incomplete information outside of an approved āļø timeframe without providing a āreasonable causeā or excuse.
Conclusion: The last fall ended rather quickly. We now see a correction and return of Bitcoin price to 19th per unit. It's been a long time since the market volatility we were used to a year ago. Perhaps more liquidity in the Binance depth will squeeze the frames even more.
