These Bored Apes Will Melt in Your Mouth: M&M’s Releases NFT-Inspired Candy

Candy brand Mars today announced that it has signed a deal 🤝 with Universal Music Group (UMG) label 10:22PM to create limited edition M&M’s based on Kingship, its virtual band made up of Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape Yacht Club avatars.

The band has also released its own NFT “key cards” that provide exclusive benefits and access to holders. NFT owners were given early access to purchase 💸 M&M candies. So cool, right?

Ontario Securities Commission Flags Kucoin, Other Crypto Firms as Unregistered

Not a very good sign. The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) today issued an alert flagging 13 companies that “are not registered ❌ to deal or advise in securities in Ontario,” including the Seychelles-based MEK Global Limited and the Singapore-incorporated PhoenixFin Pte. Ltd., both of which collectively make Kucoin. The OSC’s new warning against Kucoin is the second one this month.

Republican Representative Boebert Failed to Disclose Eight Crypto Trades in 2021

An unexpected twist. Colorado Republican Representative Lauren Boebert failed to file her “periodic transactions report” on time ⌛️ for investments made in 2021, as per her financial statement filed last week.

Of the eight transactions, four were purchases, and four were sales, but none resulted in more than $200 in profits per the filing. “There’s a huge red flag that all these assets were obtained in one year, but no reporting on it,” 💬 Kedric Payne, vice president of the Campaign Legal Center and a former deputy chief counsel for the Office of Congressional Ethics

Singapore authorities approve probe of 3AC on behalf of liquidators

The show goes on? Singapore High Court approved a petition on Monday to recognize the liquidation order against Three Arrows Capital (3AC) issued by a court ⚖️ in the British Virgin Islands. The Singapore court’s decision, handed down in private, gives the petitioner the legal ability to request access to 3AC financial records kept in Singapore, where 3AC is based.

Uniswap eyes NFT financialization, in talks with lending protocols

It's not a bad idea, if it works. Crypto exchange 💱 Uniswap engaged in talks with multiple nonfungible token (NFT) lending protocols, according to a social media post from Uniswap's head of NFT product Scott Lewis.

In the tweet, Lewis highlights the company’s interest in tackling both liquidity issues and the “information asymmetry” surrounding NFTs. Over the last few months, Uniswap has made big steps toward including NFT activity in its service offerings. Uniswap is one of the world’s largest decentralized exchanges (DEXs), responsible for nearly $6 billion 💰 in assets in its liquidity pools.  

Tether says it would not freeze sanctioned Tornado Cash addresses unless instructed by law enforcement

A brave step. On Wednesday, U.S. dollar stablecoin issuer Tether (USDT) said that it would not freeze ❄️ smart contract addresses sanctioned by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets (OFAC) Control's Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons (SDN) list for cryptocurrency trail-mixer Tornado Cash. "In our dealings with law enforcement we are sometimes specifically instructed not to freeze addresses as this could alert suspects," 💬 says Tether.

John McAfee Is Still Alive, Ex-Girlfriend Claims In Documentary

In the new Netflix documentary 🎞 , "Running with the Devil: The Wild World of John McAfee," filmmakers probe the crypto evangelist's chaotic life and mysterious death—including former girlfriend Samantha Herrera's claim that he is still alive and living in Texas.

“Texas is awesome, for sure,” 💬 McAfee's widow Janice McAfee later clarified. “But John was being held in a Spanish prison because of trumped charges against him from the IRS so I doubt he would choose to hide out in America. That would be silly.” Just a PR move or a legitimate hint?

Conclusion: The issue of decentralization may now become extremely urgent. Many major crypto exchanges are receiving warnings in various countries that they should get an operating license. Who knows, maybe these are the right steps to take for those who have transparent revenues and want to protect their funds. There's a clear conviction that not everyone will be happy about this. The DEXs could take back some clients off the market.
