Solana NFT Startup Dust Labs Raises $7M as y00ts Tops NFT Charts

Wow, they're so sought-after. The buzzy y00ts NFT launch delivered on the growing hype with millions in sales, and its creators just raised 📈 funding for a Web3 tech startup. Solana NFT project y00ts launched Monday night, and has yielded over $6 million worth of secondary sales so far.

Dust Labs, a tech startup linked to both y00ts and the popular DeGods NFT project, has raised $7 💰 million in funding from an array of venture capital firms. Participants in the round include FTX Ventures and Solana Ventures, as well as top Solana NFT marketplace Magic Eden, Solana NFT protocol maker Metaplex, and firms Foundation Capital and Jump.

Russia Wants to Use Stablecoins to Get Around Western Sanctions

Tricky, but logical. Russia is advancing its crypto strategy to circumvent Western sanctions. Unable to access dollars or euros, the country is turning to stablecoins. Deputy Finance Minister Alexey Moiseyev today said 💭 the country is exploring stablecoins to make payments with “friendly countries”. Moiseyev stated that Russia is working to “create bilateral platforms” with “tokenized instruments” to avoid using U.S. dollars and euros.

Reddit NFT avatars selling for a premium on OpenSea

Impressive. Sales of recently launched Reddit blockchain-based avatars are rising 📈 on nonfungible token (NFT) marketplace OpenSea, outperforming the platform’s proprietary store. Reddit, the “front page” of the internet, plugged into the burgeoning world of NFTs with the announcement of collectible avatars in July 2022.

Reddit Avatars are created by a number of independent artists that use the platform and are minted on purchase on the Polygon blockchain. Given that OpenSea features cross-blockchain support across Ethereum, Polygon, Klaytn and Solana blockchains, Reddit NFTs are now being sold 💸 at a premium on the popular NFT marketplace.

Exiled Myanmar democratic leaders want to issue CBDC to fund the revolution

Half a year after the military junta in Myanmar revealed its plans to launch a digital currency, the country’s government, ousted in a coup in 2021, voiced its own intention to launch one using frozen ❄️ national funds. The funds could amount to billions of dollars. Minister of Planning of exiled Myanmar’s National Unity Government, Tin Tun Naing points to the possibility of using them as reserves to support “revolutionary efforts” in the country. An interesting option.

21Shares Parent Company 21.co Raises $25M at $2 Billion Valuation

21.co, the parent company of crypto investment firm 21Shares, has raised $25 💰million in a funding round led by London-based hedge fund Marshall Wace. 21Shares today announced the formation of its new parent company 21.co along with its funding news. 21.co will also serve as the parent company of token provider Amun.

Other investors in the round include Collab+Currency, Quiet Ventures, ETFS Capital, and Valor Equity Partners. The raise 📈 puts the company's valuation at $2 billion, with 21.co now claiming to be "Switzerland’s largest crypto unicorn." Well, this is a promising project.

Elon Musk Says 90% of Twitter Comments Are Bots—Binance CEO CZ Agrees

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said yesterday that “90% of comments are bots,” sharing a screenshot of various fake accounts of Binance boss Changpeng Zhao replying to Musk. “Twitter please, I see enough of my boss already,” 💬 responded Binance’s official Twitter account. “Can you help so I don't have to see him 99x more each day?”. Zhao joined soon after, stating that while he’s the real Zhao behind the tweet, 90% of Musk’s comments are indeed bots. They are already everywhere.

Argentine Freemasons want to put NFTs to philanthropic work

The Argentine Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons is jumping into nonfungible tokens (NFTs), but with a philanthropic twist. The secretive society is releasing 🔎 77 digital art NFTs under the name CryptoMasons, with profits going back to local charities supported by the chapter.

According to the announcement, this is the first official NFT project supported 🤝 by a local Grand Lodge. A Masonic Grand Lodge is the governing entity of a given fraternal freemasons group in a specific region. While this project comes from an Argentinian branch, there are hundreds in existence around the globe. Wow, interesting to see if there will be any buyers.

Conclusion: There's a reason our editor staff has been confused by the market for the past two weeks. This lull foreshadows the obligatory movements. That's what we're seeing - price drawdown, and the liquidation of long positions.
