NFT Game Pixelmon Attempts Comeback After $70M ‘Horrible’ Art Reveal

A nice update. Perhaps no project was a greater sign of the NFT world’s excess and speculative frenzy earlier this year than Pixelmon, a project that raised $70 💰 million by selling NFTs that promised to deliver a Pokémon-esque experience—and then unveiled ragged artwork that was widely panned and yielded memes aplenty.

Several months later, the Ethereum-based game project is staging a comeback. Pixelmon announced 🔈 a new leadership team and an overhauled roadmap following the recent release of upgraded artwork, which turned the blocky, Minecraft-inspired models into more polished, smoothed-out 3D creatures.

Walmart Debuts Roblox Worlds as ‘Testing Ground’ for the Metaverse

Even such giants are not far behind. The American retail chain created "Walmart Land" and "Walmart’s Universe of Play" within 🎮 Roblox, which has surged to new levels of popularity amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Roblox claims to have some 52 million daily active 👥 users, and the platform hosts millions of 3D games and worlds primarily created by users. The retailer previously filed for trademarks related to the metaverse and cryptocurrency.

Crypto Lender Nexo Hit With Enforcement Actions From Eight States

Oh, wow. State securities regulators in California and several other states took action against ❌ Nexo Group, the parent company of crypto lender Nexo, calling the company’s Earn Interest Product an unregistered security.

“These crypto interest accounts are securities and are subject to investor protections under the law, including adequate disclosure of the risk involved,” 💬 California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) said in a press release. New York Attorney General Letitia James's lawsuit says Nexo is "falsely representing" that it complies with the state's securities regulations.

Hackers Nab Nearly $1 Million in Crypto From Ethereum ‘Vanity Adress’ Exploit

Roughly $950,000 worth of crypto has been stolen from an Ethereum “vanity address” generated with a tool called Profanity. The exploit leveraged a similar vulnerability related to the recent $160 💸 million attack on market maker Wintermute. The hacker stole 732 Ethereum on September 25 before transferring the funds straight to the now-sanctioned crypto mixer Tornado Cash, according to the data from PeckShield. Somebody had a fine day.

Binance to burn all LUNC trading fees following community feedback

Plan changed. To support the Terra community’s efforts to revive the Terra (LUNA) — now renamed Terra Classic (LUNC) — token, crypto exchange 💱 Binance announced an off-chain burning mechanism last week. However, after receiving mixed reactions from community members, the exchange revised its burning approach.

However, days after the post, Zhao laid out the flaws of their previous plan. Because of this, Binance announced a revised method to support the revival of LUNC. According to Zhao, the exchange will now completely burn 🔥 all the trading fees that it collects from its LUNC/BUSD and LUNC/USDT spot and margin trading pairs. The fees collected will be converted into LUNC and sent to LUNC's official burning address.

Do Kwon says he’s ‘making zero effort to hide’ following Interpol notice

In a tweet, Kwon said 📲 members of Crypto Twitter had likely seen him walking on the street or around shopping malls — without mentioning the city or country — in “the past couple weeks” despite Interpol reportedly issuing a Red Notice for the Terra co-founder. Kwon told his more than one million followers in a reply that he had not seen 👀 his name on Interpol’s list of individuals to “locate and provisionally arrest pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action,” but not all names are made public. So, where is he?

Disney seeks corporate lawyer for ‘emerging technologies’ and NFTs

There must be a lot of people who want NFTs. The Walt Disney Company could be on the verge of expanding into the crypto space 🌐 after posting a new job for an “experienced corporate attorney” to work on “emerging technologies” such as nonfungible tokens (NFTs) and the Metaverse.

According to the listing on the Disney careers website, the company is hiring 🔎 for a “Principal Counsel — Corporate Transactions, Emerging Technologies & NFTs” to work on transactions involving NFTs, the Metaverse, blockchain and decentralized finance (DeFi). The role includes “full product life cycle legal advice and support for global NFT products,” among other responsibilities.

Conclusion: Suddenly, Bitcoin's price is back above $20,000. CZ found a compromise with the community, through burning tokens from trading fees. And Binance is seriously fighting for a piece of the trading market and is making concessions.

See you tomorrow, folks! Thanks for being with us :) Brought to you by Maksym, Svyat, and Aleksandar :)
