US Lawmakers Introduce 'ECASH' Bill in New Push to Create a Digital Dollar 💸💸💸

A group of U.S. lawmakers says the U.S. Treasury Department may be the right government entity to create a digital dollar – not the Federal Reserve.

The electronic dollar 💣, as defined in the bill, would be a bearer instrument that people could hold on their phone or a card. The system would be token-based, not account-based, meaning if someone were to lose their phone or card, they would lose the funds.

MicroStrategy Leverages Bitcoin Holding to Buy Even More BTC🙀🙀🙀

MicroStrategy has taken a bitcoin-secured loan of USD 250m from Silvergate Bank, with the company planning to use the money to buy even more BTC. 🤯

The loan, issued as an interest-only term loan by Silvergate Bank is “secured by certain bitcoin held in MacroStrategy’s collateral account,” an announcement from the firm said.

Axie Infinity’s Ronin Network Suffers $625M Exploit !!!

An attacker “used hacked private keys in order to forge fake withdrawals” from the Ronin bridge across two transactions, as seen on Etherscan.

While the Ronin sidechain has nine validators requiring five signatures for withdrawals and is meant to protect against these types of attacks, the blog post notes that “the attacker found a backdoor through our gas-free RPC node, which they abused to get the signature for the Axie DAO validator.”

Chris Larsen, the billionaire co-founder of Ripple, roiled the crypto world on Tuesday with a call for Bitcoin to reduce its environmental impact. ☠️☠️☠️

He's teaming up with Greenpeace and the Sierra Club and bankrolling a $5 million campaign called "Change the Code not the Climate" that will call attention to Bitcoin's energy use.

The stated goal of the campaign is to persuade the scattered collection of people who maintain the Bitcoin network to replace its energy-intensive mining process with a "proof-of-stake" system that requires much less electricity and is used by some other blockchains.

13 apps removed after researchers uncover Trojan crypto wallet scheme 🐎🐎🐎

Research by cyber security firm ESET has uncovered a “sophisticated scheme” that disseminates Trojan apps disguised as popular cryptocurrency wallets.

The malicious scheme targets mobile devices using Android or Apple (iOS) operating systems which become compromised if the user downloads a fake app.

These malicious apps are distributed through bogus websites, and imitate legitimate crypto wallets, including MetaMask, Coinbase, Trust Wallet, TokenPocket, Bitpie, imToken, and OneKey.

OpenSea Confirms It Will Start Listing Solana NFTs in April🌞🌞🌞

Following months of building leaks, leading NFT marketplace OpenSea confirmed today that it will indeed add support for NFTs minted on the Solana blockchain.

OpenSea revealed the news with a short teaser video posted to its official Twitter account, poking fun at the barrage of tweets pointed its way about plans to add Solana. 🪴

The video, which OpenSea tweeted is about “the best kept secret in Web3,” notes that Solana support is coming in April. 🥂🥂

Binance launches Binance Bridge 2.0 to integrate CeFi and DeFi

Centralized cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced the rollout of Binance Bridge 2.0 🎉🎉🎉. The feature enables users to bridge assets from any blockchain, including tokens not listed on the Binance app, to the BNB Chain.

Bridged tokens listed on Binance will be stored in the Funding or Spot Wallet, while unlisted bridged tokens will be transferred to the Funding Wallet only. 🎀

Users can bridge-in or bridge-out tokens between their native blockchains and BNB Chain via regular deposit and withdrawal functions. In the future, Binance also plans to create a better version of its mobile app to allow users to facilitate such conversion via a single click. 💪💪💪
